Certified AWS Solutions Architect with 2+ years of experience building apps and business critical infrastructure at scale. Founder of Simcha Sidekick, a wedding planning app that has 30+ monthly active users. Experience building mission critical architecture, moving and transforming large amounts of data with high velocity.
My strongest 0-to-1 experience was co-founding and building Simcha Sidekick, a niche wedding-planning platform tailored specifically for Jewish weddings (similar to The Knot or Zola, but designed around vendors that can accommodate religious traditions and requirements). My wife handled the product design and domain research while I tackled the engineering. We brought our vision to life in about four weeks, and then worked closely with our first users over months to refine the site and add features. Simcha Sidekick now serves our community with approximately 30 monthly users and minimal operational overhead (approximately $12/year in infrastructure cost). Link
In college I was hired as a freelancer to build an application to backtest options trading strategies. My client's hypothesis was that holding put options as a hedge against market crashes would make a portfolio outperform the market in the long run. His goal was to find the optimal ratio of stock to hedge as well as the best parameters for the put options that were used as a hedge. I purchased 15 years of SPY stock options pricing data and built a custom backtesting engine in python to run simulations of different ratios and parameters. I also built a frontend in React.js which I hosted on AWS for the client to interact directly with the engine. Link
I've always found game development to be fun and satisfying. Here are a few creations of mine that I am especially proud of:
A farming incremental game where you sell your crops on the stock market. Inspired by the dutch tulip bubble of the 1600s.
A fast paced game to test your reflexes. Based on the Stroop Effect.
I find animation fascinating! Ever since I learnt how to make shapes move across a computer screen I have been mesmerized with the ability to bring the inanimate to life. Thus, I set out to learn Blender, a 3D animation tool. You can check out my selected works here.
